Who We Are

Orangeville and District Labour Council is both the voice of labour and the body that local unions can turn to for outreach into the community of Dufferin.

Our Labour Council represents affiliates from Orangeville, Grand Valley, Shelburne, Dundalk, Arthur, Fergus, Erin and Alliston. We advocate for economic and social equality within our community by joining forces with local unions and allies, to create a sustainable and healthy community by taking action on social, economic, and environmental issues.

Orangeville and District Labour Council brings local unions, affiliates, activists, and community members together with the message of continuing to fight for positive change and equality.

We run educational workshops that are open to the public and cover a variety of different topics. We run Day of Mourning events and help co-host festivities with our community partners. During times of hardship, we provide support to the community and its’ members, whether it be through donations, volunteering, or by standing up and fighting for those who can’t.

Orangeville and District Labour Council will continue to fight for paid sick leave, fair wages, job protection, as well as proper health and safety measures for workers and we, will continue to support public services and social programs. Only through unity and raising one another up, can we strive to have a stronger and brighter future.
